What is a heat loss survey?
A heat loss calculation is the first and most important step in switching to low carbon heating. It is also now mandatory for all new build properties to have had a heat calculation to ensure industry standards are met. This is important as an over or underpowered heat source will not be efficient which can be costly and may need replacing. The calculation is what determines the required energy usage for the property to pick the correct heat source and calculate your potential energy savings.
How does it work?
One of our experienced surveyors will visit the property to conduct a heat loss survey. This usually takes around 1-2 hours depending on the size of the property. During the visit we will measure your rooms, windows, doors, radiators and inspect your insulation. We then conduct the heat loss calculation using software to model each room with the data collected to build your 23 page report. We offer this as a service on a self employed basis for installers across the UK. We can work from plans or from visiting your site, all of our surveys are MCS certified.
